In D1 Pontiac is NOTHING

Lets rephrase that, in D1, America is nothing, yet and I stress, yet.

D1 is more or less an exhibition in America, it is not American like Formula D is so that really doesn't have sway.

Millen has numerous histories with motorsports such as Rally and Hill climbing. He has done lots more than Drifting, maybe before you say that he sucks, you might check up on him a little more.

As for your son being better than Rhyss, well thats a bold statement seeing as none of us know who your son is or have seen him drive. His friends are Neo-Force, ok, well my friends run Historic races and are professional stunt drivers, doesn't make me any better of a driver than Millen.

Whoa Tiger, if you read your posts, you are the one hostile. So lets see, Rhyss sucks because he is sponsered by Pontiac, and as we all know, Pontiac ain't nothin in the D1, you established that. So does that mean that all the others suck too? Are they not worthy of your admiration? Does Forseberg suck because he has a big sponsership? Does Angelo suck because he has a big sponsership? How bout Gushi? Or maybe Hampton. Can your son outdrive them too because of their sponsers? Come on man, get real. These guys had the talent to go get these big sponsers, they don't own the companies that gave them to em. They footed their own bill around the country, put in the labor and hard work and devloped their skills to go big time.

Who sponsers your son? Maybe he just ain't got it in the foot to get a big one yet, maybe he does, who knows, but before you make all these grandious statements and come on here bashing people, maybe you need to take a step back and curb that e-dog mentality of yours before it gets a put down there cowboy. We don't a like all that mean talking in these here parts, thems a hanging offense.

Lets clarify...
I NEVER said he sucked because he was sponsored by Pontiac. Someone else was singing his praises because he was sponsored by Pontiac. I merely ponted out that Pontiac is NOT the measuring stick in drifting. How does a Pontiac sponsorship make one a great drifter? It doesn't.

personally i dont like Rhys Millen as a person, but i have mad respect for his resume and what he can do in a car, i DO think hes VERY good at drifting and will more then likely be one of the top drivers next year. but as a person, i belive hes a self centered snob.

i dont see how any car could be bad for drift its its purpose built for it, i think S chassis cars and 86s will be pushed out of top competition next year, everyone has over 500whp and factory sponsorships.

doesnt leave much room for people like me whos trying to get into national competition. but its all in good fun

as for Jesse James, i thinkt he publicity has gone to his head a bit much, the honey bee was a piece of poop and the episode was hard to watch, i give it a thumbs down.

No, you didn't. Nobody in the entire thread sang praises to him because he was sponsered by Pontiac. They simply liked the fact that he showed up. Then you bust in with, let me clarify,

Plus, smart guy, I hate to tell you this, but Pontiac probably knows ALOT more about Drifting than you think. It would be insane to believe that they would factory back a car for a motorsport that they knew nothing about. Get real man. Just because you still haven't figured out that money makes the world go around, even in Drifting, doesn't mean that Rhyss sucks because he drives for Pontiac or that Pontiac is any worse than any other car manufacturer that pumps money into a sport that your son is so good at.

FOR REAL phantasm be quiet. what your saying is dumb. i mean, i dont personally love rhys millen but i respect him. hes a good drifter i have to admit. whether he drives a silvia or gto i still think hes good. i mean you dont need to hate on him just cause he drives a gto. im not an american car type guy AT ALL but i dont dislike him cause he drives one. its just stupid to say he sux just cause he drives a gto. and to say pontiac dont know sh!t bout drifting is stupid. im sure they know a good amount. maybe not as much as say..Nissan, but hey w/e. anyway the point is rhys is a hell of a drifter. EXCEPT IT. doesnt matter if he drives an american car or not, hes still really good at it.

Ok I've read the whole post on the monster garage episode and it turned into some rhys millen bash fest. I think everyone could agree with me on some level so check it out

Pontiac gave rhys millen a car knowing that rhys millen could drive now you cant argue with that. So hating on pontiac is out of the question now your guy's repsect for rhys millen, you got to give it to him that man can drive there is no doubt about it I've been watching him since the d1 driver search exibition when he was driving the Jasper Performance Supra or even before that when he was driving his RMR EVO and sliding that with ease because I dont see anyone talking anything about when he was driving those 2 cars .more that often in any motorsport its 20% car and 80% driver so when you look at rhys millen and the different cars he has gone through ,his driving skills has never tarnished but it does seem kinda funny once he got picked up by an american sponsore that began all the hating. Now is it me or are people more furious at that fact that rhys millen has got SKILLS or the SPONSOR

Now what I really want to see is when KEN GUSHI starts driving his mustang or even vough Gitten JR to see peoples reaction

its all about, import vs domestic. both sides have learned to hate each other, so naturally when they merge theres a lil friction. as for the mustangs in the series, rhys was the first to go pro with a car associated with the detroit muscle assholes who (majority not all) think their cars/technology cannot be beaten, hey welcome to america. pontiac started the "muscle drifting" ford just jumped on the bandwagon because they saw dollar signs flying. the money could do the sport some good. heck, maybe one of our great forum addicts might get sponserd one day. anyway, it would be awesome if someone could post the vid for all of us who didnt hear about it in time

and for the record, i met rhys down here in louisiana when he was filming for dukes of hazard, it wasnt a great long convo but he seemed pretty cool.
