subarus are like rwd converted to awd. you can actually make a subaru rwd by welding the center diff.
mitsubishis are like front wheel drive converted to awd. so when you take away awd you get a front wheel drive car, it could be possible, but it would take an incredible amount of work to make it rwd. FAR more work.
engine bay shots of a front wheel drive car and rwd car could help alot, along with undercarriage shots, then hell udnerstand driveshafts.
What he was trying to accomplish by putting the radiator back there? Lower coolant temps, better weight dist, more rear traction???
The Subaru has better weight distribution because of it's driveline layout. The Evo's engine and transmission sit sideways over the front axle, so most of the Evo's weight is up front, like a FWD. The Subaru's engine is mounted like a RWD, with the engine over the front axle, and the trans behind the engine. Thus, the Subaru's mass is distributed more evenly throughout the car.
