After seeing the NJ runs on the tele, the great equalizer at that event seemed to be the transition. Hit it too fast or at the wrong angle and you spun or lost momentum. In Atlanta there is really no equalizer to help out the underpowered cars. If you don't have the power, you can't link the turn coming out of the horsehoe. The way the track is designed, the more power you have, you can just mash the throttle coming out of the horsehoe and link the turn. The slower guys can't do that and the layout forces you to scrub off alot of speed in front of the dirt. You can also tell the guys who are heavily sponsered by that one area. The big boys with the money and power can link it, the others can't. That's why Tony A advanced, he was in basically a privateer car doing sponsered driving. The judges recognized that and advanced him. He should have been in the top 16 hands down by his first judged run. He was in a car he wasn't used to and didn't practice in, he just hopped in and nailed it. Rock on Angelo.
Matter of fact, rock on all of DA. Between the awesome driving, even under adverse equipment failures, the entourage of scantily clad drunken hooligans and JR's freaking nightmarish sounding Mustang, you guys made the event for me. DA rules.
