Golf\Rabbit breif history
No, it's a Golf. The rabbit is just the first model that they came out with and then they made the rabbit a little bit bigger and called it a golf.
Plust i think they stopped making Rabbits in like 79 or 82 or something like that, could be wrong though.
I just no that a Rabbit was basicly a proto for what was to come.
The Fox turned into the jetta and the jetta into a passat.
The passat is just a more roomier car of the jetta.
the higher up you go on the car the more luxery they have.
so its like this, VW beetle,Charman Ghia and Bus\Van,(all had the same engine in them as the VW Beetle),then the Pickup, Fox, Rabbit, Golf, Jetta, Passat, Pheoton and Toureg. (But not in that order)
The Golf and jetta had the same engine in but the higher models like the GL, GTi what have you had more horse power and upgrades to the enigne then the lower end models of that time.
The Golf and Jetta used the same engine from the 1980's to the early 1990' then they redesigned it.
they currently use the same engine in all there cars now days except the pheoton and Toureg, which are manely for torque, power and all wheel drive.
My Golf is the lowest model for that time frame, The VW Golf Custome, But she runs and sound just as good as the day she came off the assembly line, She donsn't look like much but she runs good.
I wish the new designed VW's would come to america, Europe has all the newer models and we still have last years models.
