major props if u do, id say its a good idea. i wish i had that kind of money to get something like that... but i might be able to get a rx8 soon for rather cheap... my friends dad just bought one and does not want it, getting into some money trouble, and i might be able to get it for cheap... to bad i dont have the money for that either. hell, i barely have enough for a s14. where does money go? it leaves before i can take it all in.

I'll second that.. The DOT or BMV will probably check and severe fines may result if you go over the 2500 miles a year but they won't take ur damn car apart to check and see if you've been unhooking the speedo cable.

why dont you just unplug the damn speed sensor? so then the speedo doent work, and hence, no working odometer, and thus, no miles on the car EVER!

I can import an R32 but since i dont have the money to legalize it i have to register it as a race/show car which means i can only drive 2,500 miles on the street per 12 months thats 7 miles a day if i drove everyday. but if i didnt drive during the week(im lazy) thats about 35 miles on the weekend.

                    Is it worth it?

before you vote ITS A SKYLINE!

plus i barely drive long distances and it will mostly be for street racing and no i wont go rice i still love drifting. i will be drifting with a different car.
I say do it... but i have some questions.

Are you prepared to spend more after buying the car? (because maintenace, will be a little bit tough) i think you can go to Motorex to get some maintenance parts for your car, unless you know someone else or you know some parts that can fit in a Skyline.

If you start putting aftermarket, are you prepared for that price too? Skylines falls under the category of a SuperCar (ei, Supra, RX7, etc.) they dont exactly have cheap parts, like civics (and im not talking about Air Filters, im talking about Brake Systems, Suspension systems, the expensive parts of a car). OH yeah, dont even DARE to give that Skyline a COILOVER Springs, you better give that a Full COILOVER suspension with Strut bars. I'll hurt you bad, if you set that skyline like a rice

And your a drifter you say?
Are you willing to import parts from Japan, just for replacement of any parts that you smash while drifting. There's literally MILLIONS of junk yards and shops here in America, and not one of them can provide you a OEM replacement parts for a SKYLINE, unless they SPECIAL ORDER it.

                    my $0.02.

If you can accept this responsiblity, i say go for it.

Many compines like HKS, Greddy, Blitz, APEXi Makes parts for the skyline. Its not as hard as you think to get skyline parts. It iwll just take an extra week to get her.

SORRY, YOU GUYS CAN STOP VOTING. LAST NIGHT I JUST OFFERED 11,000. THE CAR IS MINE. SUKKER.

jus, playin yo! I dont have any hook-ups like that!! I want to, someday maybe, import the body of an FC, but do all the motor work here. Would that be street legal? I really want to wave to someone from the right hand side in traffic!

I can accept the responsibilty of parts and everything and dont worry i would never ever go rice. if i make my car look good it will have the power to back it up i will never go like some civics here or that CRX on the burnt rice topic MY EYES BLED FOR DAYS!

and i wont be drifting this car. i will buy a old rx7 or something maybe in a year or two for drifting.(something cheap maybe 1-3k) since this car will put me back. this will be my drag car.

but insurance is my question. i dont know f i register it as a race/show car how much it would be. a friend said since im under 18 it will be around $200 a month. which isnt bad but not good. anyone know how much insurance would be on a car registered as a race/show car?
