hey man im 17 and i know how you feel but you have to reailize that you are gonna have to be super and i mean *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored*in super careful driving a car with over 300hp. Alot of people dont reailze that on a 3, 4, or 500 hp car you cant just step on the gas. if you do your just gonna lose back traction and spin it then hurt yourself or worst hurt someone else. I made the mistake at 15 begging my parents for a high hp sports car and they beleved that i was mature enough to be able to not race and keep it legal at all times... even i thought that i would be able to handle it and wouldent race but what did i do...... i raced every single chance i got and what happend to me???? i crashed my car into the side of a canyon spun and rolled it by the way i was driving a 92 240sx with a blacktop sr almost a identical car that i have now. Now i know that i seem to be acting like a parent and *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored* but man im just warning you dont get over confedent and crash your nice car... man i love supras and rx7s even skylines are awsome cars but they are very powerful. So man please be careful, we dont need another person dead...

ya i got you that sucks what happened to ur ex 240. i am not going to race for atleast a year and im not hot headed so i wont get carried into it by disses or whatever id be too scared to wreck a sexy vehicle.(or any vehicle for that matter) i understand the responsibility of driving and the value of life.

buy a extra r32 gauge cluster, and swap it out when ever they check your milage on your car.. then swap it back in and keep driving No worries about the silly 2500 mi rule.

I'd be interested to see him GET insurance on that car. Grey market car, 16 years old, R32 GTR. Lol the insurance guy wouldn't even be able to keep a straight face.

I hate to say this but there is no way in hell you are going to not race in that car or a 7 or a Supra. No way and i'd be willing to put money on it. Hell i'm 33 almst 34 and I can't turn down a race when one drops so neatly in my lap. Plus unless you are paying cash for your 7 or Supra, then you are going to HAVE to have full coverage. Believe me when I say this, it ain't cheap.

I'm all about you getting what you want, but you don't want an FD. Trust me on this. They are money pits. Lemme break it down to youy. I am on my third engine soon to be fourth, second set of turbos (and that's lucky, usually have to have them when you do an engine) and second wiring harness (same as above). Everything is hella expensive for them, they break and they are not a wise investment. Plus the lower the miles the more cause to worry. Low miles does not equal good engine in a Rotary. Don't know much about Supras but remember this. FD's and Supras and especially that Skyline are gonna be a big fat target for every swinging *Censored**Censored**Censored**Censored* to try to race you. Pretty soon you will get a rep for NOT racing and no one will take you seriously, not to mention Johnny Law and the get locked up crew gonna be hounding you every second. Do yourself a favor, get a 240. Trick it out the way that will work for you, do a Silvia conversion on it and call it a day.
You will be much happier. You will rue the day you ever got a 7 when de' engine go "pop" and you left on the road.

Insurance for a "race/show" vehicle would be based on it's replacement value. The pricing would be different from normal street driven cars.


Also, the GT-R doesn't meet the minimum requirement to to meet the show part. You won't be able to drive it on the streets.

If you do, and use another license plate from another vehicle, any police that does a plate check will treat you like a car thief because vehicle description not matching plate info.

If it's as simple as you want to believe, there will be more of these Grey market vehicles being driven around...

im aiming for a 3rd gen supra right now. and really i wont be racing for a while till i got some more horses on it which would take months. but yes when im out at night i may step on the gas a little when the street is near empty.

i heard a lot that 7's were hard to maintian and dont have money to really keep fixing a car.

also i will be paying full cash for a car.

There are ways to get around it. But only one of them is fully legal. I've heard of the "conversion" tag. You take a 240 and call it a "Skyline Conversion" when you title it. Have to have a 240 vin to do this. Would not recommend this one.

Also down here in the south, Georgia to be exact, I saw a guy take an older Soarer RHD, still had Japanese plates on it. A guy in the military brought the car back. He contacted the state. They issued a vin to him and then he had to have the Sheriff inspect the car. After that, it was legal. Now granted this is in a city that has no emissions laws and is in the country. That car is still on the road as far as I know. Same thing as a kit car title. This is the way to go on the East coast. Laws are alot more relaxed out here. You West coasters have things alot harder.

this is one of the main reasons I turned down that R33 GTST. I still want like hell to have that car, especially after seeing the Blister kits for them. J-blood rocks
But it would be a lot of hassle to register it and It won't work near as well as the FD for what I want to do with it. Sure a Skyline is the tip top of the cool chain but I love my FD.
