hmmm... why are most females not into male dominated sports? I think the answer is in the latter half of the question, exemplified by the previous three posts.

keep on topic guys, I hate to close this thread.

I'd go with a front clip, since your in need of a new motor. but it all depends on how much you have to spend. you can save your money and instead build the one you have now. You'll have plenty of money left over. Maybe save it up for a turbo kit?

Hun don't be to worried about RHD. It takes about a day to learn.
I'm beggining my own rhd conversion soon. Waiting for the front clip to come in to cut out the firewall and begin the fun. My boyfriend and I specialize in rhd conversions in tampa/ fl. The odd thing, is the looking through the mirrors while driving, and driving in a stright line takes getting used to the first day or 2.

              But good luck Courtney!

Heres a pic of my car!

Yo everyone shutup about SR swaps and crap liek its a huge thing. Srs aren't reserved for the "elite" or the good people, they came in S chassis stock in fu.cking the rest of the world fro christ sake. If this chick (Courtney, I assume) wanted to get a PS13 and she lived in japan, would someone tell her that she should get the NA model to learn on first? No. 205 hp is nothing. Is it way faster than a KrAp24DE? Yeah, but its still nothing when you think about it. Sh.it Miatas come with 200 hp from the factory nowadays, same with RSX and a grip of other cars.

Courtney, get the SR in your car, get it running, grab an LSD and coilovers and you are on your way to a great drift car. Trust me, the power can only HELP. Sh.it I went from S13 SR, stock besides exhaust and intake, to S14 SR (220 hp), and now have a PRofec B, R32 MAFS and injectors soon. Making about 260ish right now and about 300 after i get injectors and can safely not blow the thing up with a boost spike. After that, some sort of turbo upgrade.

Remember, for the cost of an SR "swap" guys in Japan and Australia have new turbo kits on the SR making 370hp! Don't listen to these fools.

                    hm...more girlies...

I don't know but I say stay off the boards and start reading. Learn the mechanics of the car first, because its gonna suck when you break it. Another thing, work on your OWN DAAAMN CAR, I hate seeing pansy girls who won't work on their own car. Should get out of the sport now, if you don't want to get dirty. Read racing books, a great author is Carroll Smith, he knows his shiiit.

Don't get shiny stuff or pretty stuff, becuase if you really want to drift you'll worry more about the condition than the looks. RHD is pretty much a waste of time for you, for all the time gonna be spent mind as well buy one. It doesn't make drifting better or easy.

Also why the hell would it cost 2k to fix the ka??? "Oh mind as well get an SR" thats trendy crap. I highly doubt you can really drive well enough to handle an SR or even a KA. Drop 500 or even less a put in a dual KA, MORE than enough power you need at this stage.

500 on new motor, 1000 on suspension if you like the name brand stuff and 500+ for an LSD, or even cheaper just weld the open diff. Any metal shop will weld it for a few bucks...

I don't mind seeing any more chicks out there, but I want to see ones that work on their own cars Not only claim they do, like certain people or end up like the Understeer Queen.

i am a pretty good driver cuz i got alot of experiance on my bros tsi and yea 2 diff mechanics have both told me it would cost 2k to fix the KA so i decided the sr redtop is the way to go.
so basicly screw rhd for me...i am getting the sr swap and yea i do work on my own car...why woudlnt i? i did want the shop to install the clip b4 cuz of all the wireing i didnt kno about. getting dirty is wut i do best. and doing anythign to the body is the last thing on my mind...just cuz im a female doesnt mean i cant do thigns right.
well thanks to u all for the feedback but i think im goin with the 180sx conversion with the sr swap...sound good? yea lemme kno
im just tryna get a new motor i can depend on, get an lsd, and much needed suspension work and ill be happy..and when/if i come up with some more cash ill see wut happens next.
thanks again ppl for the replys..they helped

Umm. You know getting an illegal engine isn't the best idea for a "motor I can depend on". There's not much to depend on if a cop finds out about it or if you have to get it smogged. I say swap in a new KA. Work on that, and get used to the 150 ponies while drifting. You can even do small mods for more increases in power. I think that after your used to the KA, buy a cheap, dependable commuter car like a civic. Then get the SR on your 240 for an illicitly evil weekend drift thingy.

But she's in TX. What SMOG testing? Most cops even here in Cali don't know what an SR is or what a KA should look like... Seriously cops have a lot better things to do (most of the time).

SR is just as reliable, if not more than KA. Why? When you do the swap, most places (or you if you are doing it alone and are smart) will replace a lot of parts with new ones. New radiator hoses, new fuids, new clamps, vaccuum lines, hoses, hopefully water pump, and/or thermostat, Rocker Arm stoppers, oil filter, fuel filter, hopefully head gasket, turbo/manifold gaskets, etc.

Courtney, do your thing girl. F these guys who are jealous.
