SR is just as reliable, if not more than KA. Why? When you do the swap, most places (or you if you are doing it alone and are smart) will replace a lot of parts with new ones. New radiator hoses, new fuids, new clamps, vaccuum lines, hoses, hopefully water pump, and/or thermostat, Rocker Arm stoppers, oil filter, fuel filter, hopefully head gasket, turbo/manifold gaskets, etc.

im just tryna get a new motor i can depend on, get an lsd, and much needed suspension work and ill be happy..and when/if i come up with some more cash ill see wut happens next.

You're only 17 girl, I highly doubt you have any real experience. Have you ever been on a real track?? Kids these days think just becuase they have a liscense they drive like a pro.

But what did the mechanics say was wrong with the engine?? Blow a rod through the engine, need a new head??

Just because you don't know wiring, if your gonna go all out learn that too. Its not totally difficult, its a learn ability really. Grab a book and learn. Because how can you trust somebody to do it all right, and it something messes up, you wouldn't know they did to it.

180 converison is just little badges or unless you really want to do a real one, then you have to be RHD...but hey I may be wrong.

Well whatever...I don't want to totally disuade you from drifting. I'm just tired of little bandwagon girls (Including attention wanting little hooooeeesss)...I say if you really are going to be serious and want to have some fun do it cheaply and plainly. You'll get the most out of it, and avoid the egotistical types that like to show off their cars. And workon your own daamn car, I really can't stress that enough!!

i think its great that there are ladys drifting and i think its even better to mod yur car to how you want it... yea sure its a drifter but its also an extension on yourself so express it in your own way... like if i got a 240 as my car id strawbery face it (s-15kit) frop a new motor in it like a s-14 and try to veil side it all round id want it to be an extension on me ^-^ gotta be original

yea i hate my KA its got too many problems, too many miles[230k miles], too many things to fix, and its too slow not to mention i broke a piston rod bearing. i just wanna get the sr, thats wut ive always wanted to do. no matter wut facts yall come up with for me not to get it.
yea i kno its not leagal but thats not something im worried about, i have ways to get it passed besdies its not that big of a deal here, i have an explorer i drive daily as well [not sayin i dont drive my 240]

One thing you want to ask yourself before doing all this is what you want the car to be like when it's done? Do you want to show it? Drift it? Use it as a daily driver? Your decision should be determined by how you plan on using it in the end. Make sure you are willing to invest the time, effort and money to get the car the way you'd like. I hope you have a job to pay for all the mods you plan to do, cause the extra money always helps, especially if something breaks down the road. I hope this all works out for you. Goodluck.

SR? Why not get a 7MGTE thier only 500 bucks. 220hp stock. alittle boost and mods and your pushing 300hp at most.

Courtney, I will tell you what was told to me a thousand times over the past two years. Learn your car first, then mod. Learn to drive it, learn its feel and tendencies, learn the basics of drift, practice, practice, practice, then decide what you need for mods and go from there. Baby steps.

P.S. The 7MGTE is too heavy for that car

Guys better watch out

I'm in Okinwawa and I have seen more than a couple girls with very good (make that excellent) skills and cars. Most of them are as good as or better than the guys. The ones that are truly into the game have very consistent technique and are very clean drivers. Most appear as though they are simply driving to the store for groceries, but all the while they are making their car do its thing...

Oh by the way, they don't act tough. They are pretty and feminine in or out of that racing seat. The relaxed appearance they have while driving is what makes them so sexy.
