Hadn't seen that Burgundy EVO in sometime...that's the car that I built for them when I co hosted "Fast & Furious Tricked Out" with Dalene Kurtis, who was at the time, fresh off her 2002 Playmate of the Year Award.

Glad they still have that car.

Well no one specifically went out and stated that they thought the movie was a documentry but the thing was everyone was getting all butt hurt because the movie wasn't 100% accurate to "the lifestyle."

And thats where the documentry comments come from, everyone wants to to represent every little detail to its fullest and have their cars and other cars that they know and their homie's cars and all that stuff and if it doesn't then all you hear is "ah man..it aint really like that at all!"

So for everyone who wants everything in this movie to be 100% detail oriented and specific then what they are really asking for is a documentry...and a documentry about our lifestyle is going to be pretty bloody boring to the general public as a whole.

I really think people are over reacting about this movie, I agree that somethings should probably be changed like bringing the whole yakuza element into drifting, but if there wasn't anything like that in the story then what would it be about? Some random kid that no one cares about trying to make a name for himself in the professional drifting circut?

Drifting is big but its not big enough to make a movie thats solely about it and have everyone know what it is, so they just wrote a story and used underground street drifting as a backdrop. So they have their main story and introduce drifting and what it is. (I really hate how they call it drift "racing" though GOD that irks me!)

If you are worried about authenticity then think about it this way, Universal has already approached some of the Formula D guys for that private casting call, I could almost bet that one of them is going to get hired as a tech advisor for the drift scenes and Im even more sure that a few Formula D drivers will make cameo's or be hired as stunt drivers.

I know that if something like that were to go public a HUGE majority of the flamers out there would quicky change their opinions about the movie.

I for one really hope they hire maybe Alex P. to advise them..that guy struggled for along time to get where he is now and if he got a big pay day for helping out with this movie than more power to him!

Actually that gives me an idea...to all the flamers and potential boycotters of this movie ...instead of complaining and refusing to watch the movie...why dont you all get together..and start a petition ..or write letters to universal asking them to bring on "Insert Formula D driver here" as a tech advisor to try and make things at least a little more true to life.

That way instead of people boycotting..we can come out in force to watch this movie and support the people we respect whom were involved.

Thats the main reason I watched part 2 even though it wasn't that great..I watched it because I good friend of mine was involved and I wanted to be supportive.

are you talking about that movie "3"? because that wasn't a documentry that was his life story ADAPTED into a movie..so it was very close to the real thing but not 100%

Anyway if that is the movie your talking about..it wasn't boring because they focused more on the man rather than the sport.

I hate NASCAR too but I admire the guy because of the kind of man he was.

Thats a totally different thing than the fast and the furious situation

They got some real drifters in it as cameos, so I'll play 8.50 just to see them.

I think the title should be changed to Fast and the Furious: Wheel spin desu! Seriously, I'd go to that movie if it were called that even without knowing the premise.

Actually, I'd say, drop the "3" entirely and have it "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Underground" or something like that, but cooler. Get your people on it Mr. Craig Lieberman!

what might be best is if the people actually involved with the film and are making the final decisions came onto the boards and started a suggestion poll.......maybe the moderators could closely monitor the thread and delete any repeated/pointless posts in that thread in order to keep the thread to a shorter length and so as not to scare them off

yay.. alex is wearing a DriftUnit shirt.. hehe. if he's in it or not, i'm gonna watch it. should be fun. From what I hear, the script has been canned and they're rewriting it with new advisors.

I wonder how the people at NASA feel about 'Star Wars'

They've already captured the Drifting community. FF3 topics are routinely the longest threads on ANY Drifting forum.

They want average people to be enthusiastic about seeing a movie. This requires 'over the top' Hollywood action and story lines.

Not much of a thrill to the average person watching a bunch of 'average' cars give chase/race/Drift for 2 hours. 'Keeping it real' will cost them at the box - office...sad, but true. 'Keeping it real' will surely inflate the market on lower priced RWD cars such as the 240 and 86 types. Let people who are easily influenced by movies (not currently into Drifting) think you need million dollar cars, Mafia support & 1000hp to 'Drift'.

anywayz, 80%of the people here will see it one way or another...18% wont have money to see it and the other 2% will be in jail....but will end up seeing it when released from said Prison

i'll see it so long as i don't have to pay for it

i just can't justify spending 8 bucks or however much it costs to go see some terrible acting with a plot about as thick as a porno plot and cars that perform worse than they did when they were stock (i.e. 2f2f cars)

I'd rather watch Initial D rather than this ricer garbage. I just knew this crap would happen its almost inevitable, we owe many thanks to NFSU2 and people without any brains. Its almost like Tokyopop screwing Initial D over, I hope no one goes to see this crap. (please import Initial D with correct subtitles!!!)

This will ruin the image of drifting for ages (to those who arent currently loyal to the motorsport) Why cant the make a good storyline like suichi shigeno; some kid starting out with nothing and has to work his way through this incredible trials and eventually competes in D1 or something that would be pretty cool, but this garbage its just bad news. (btw if you havent noticed im incredibly pissed at this) I can go on and on I can probabally write a book against this movie but for now ill let you guys have some words. Thanks for reading this extremely long rant! RAWR!!!! Stay loyal to the true essance of drifting!!!!!

                                whos with me?
