      That thing must be busting at the spot welds. If I were you I'd just use that sucker as a parts car... I wouldnt feel safe driving that thing on the road.

        Ok... Ok...I like the feedback... But im stubbron... and I will make this car look decent... and then make you all eat your words...

        SR5's came with the SOHC Carb'ed 4-AC... I plan to later do a 4-AG head swap.

          don't listen to these kids.......i helped my friend restore his 69 mustang and its body looked comparably bad to ur SR5's but plenty of grinding and sanding with skills can make what people see as a piece of crap into a show car........this is what restoring a car is all about.......buying what everyone else would think is a piece of crap and showing them what a little enginuity can accomplish

          hows the chassis look?? (asking for pics of the underbody)

            wow! Man that makes me feel better about the minor rust I have. Whoo man you're dedicated. I wouldn't do just the 4ag head swap just do the whole motor. It's probably less work.

                Oh yea all I need to do is buy a new body and slap it on!....


                I need to buy new front fenders... and the only replacements I can find are.. 130.00 each...

                and there back dent is unpullable... so i might just torch it off and weld a new back end on... sounds easy huh? well its like, everything reeks like gas, and is coverd in rust.. the bolts all break and the fenders are stubbron to come off....

                  I've seen worse fixed up.You'll need to take lots of measurements and lots of sheet metal,but it has been done and it will pay off.

                      Hate to say it but it is in pretty bad shape BUT for 100 bucks and it runs!!!! You got a smoking deal. Don't know where you live but check your local junkyards and also those little country shops that work on cars in small towns. they always have stuff stashed away behind their shops. I know where a couple are in a junkyard. I'll have my brother check on them and see if they got good sheetmetal.

                      Gonna be a fun resto though. Just think, when you slam it hard drifting you won't have much work to do to get it back to what it was

                        DAY 6

                        While, Since the shittin dog decied to eat the other grinder.. I borrowed the really nice one from my grandpa...

                        I grinded the rest of the rust on the drivers side door and mudded them up... I'll prolly D\A them down tomarrow night.. and grind the wheel well opening to, then mudd that... and D\A it new years... and hopefully have it primed by saturday...

                        I cant wait to get paided... but my list is soo big... I'm going to buy some sheet metal and tigerhair...thats it for now... I have to get another to buy more stuff...

                          Are you going to eventually rip everything down to the chasis.Your probably going to have to put in new floor pans,fenders.Is the firewall good? You know there is one plus to this.After you get all the metal work done,you can seam weld/reinforce your chasis.So in the end,your going to have one hell of a nice chasis,regardless of how rough it is now.You have the perfect opertunity to do so.

                            I think thats not tuning... I refuse to do that...

                            I want to make a good street tuned car... not a race car... thats all... plus this car is my first... it wont look great... it will look decent... but its more a learner.. I want either a S13 or another nicer Corolla in the future...

                              130 each? im sure if you get your your local junkyard, you can get both 130 at most.

                                Nope, I checked the junkyard i work next to dont have any body parts for my car... But they can order me some Tawian Tin $hit that rusts quicker then... well nothing...130 is for OEM replacements.

                                DAY 7or 6?? I'm losing track...


                                Today I D\Aed the rest of the bondo on the door, and grinded the wheel well opening..and bondoed that... Prolly D\A that tomarrow... if i can work through the hang over...

                                I also messed around with the ebrake... I took the cover off and looked around at it... messed with this bolt thing to tighten it... which still didnt do anything.. I think brakes come after body... prolly Late Jan...

                                Scoping the internet for other parts... I found a Deck Lid with OEM spoiler for somthing like 235.00 on ebay... also a CF hood for 300.00 on ebay... but i dont think I'm going to buy either....
                                the hood was some off-brand name crap.. I'm only going to buy J-Blood CF Type one...but thats in a long while...
