yea man i dont think you should import it
look around you will find rx7's

i heard when you buy a car in the states and wanna bring it back over you have to pay a lot of tax money.

Man go to car auctions in toronto.

there alot more rare alot more expensive, and alot harder to drift with, they have alot more power and are not for an amature driver. Ask Ghost of Duluth, he drives one. there was a thread here it is http://www.drifting.com/forums/showt...ight=S13+vs+FD

its S13 vs FD, basicly it highlights the strengths and weakensses of these vehichles, For all intents and purposes it can be FD vs FC/S13/86 (maybe?) because its basicly about drifting with a cheap relatively low performance vehichle to learn with as opposed to a street legal race car like the FD.

also good info on both cars there. its pretty long but take the time to read it. Its good info for any beginner.

they dont sell 180sx's in canada or america, only the 240sx which came as both the coupe and convertable.

You should do more research on the S13, theres alot on this site. there really isnt any "best" year to buy, but i would advice a DOHC motor 91 and up. but thats just me.

there pretty much the same besides that. i would also stay away from the hicas models, you will know its hicas because it says so on the car.

Your actualy in a good position because alot of canadian 240sx's came with VLSDs, so i would buy one with a VLSD on it.

I agree. As for searching for a vehicle, here's a few pointers after owning 60 vehicles.

                          1. Look. Drive ALL over, Take back roads that you haven't taken before. Look for roads that go outside of your city that used to be main roads but now maybe a highway has aken over. Case in point for all you Georgians. There is a road that runs from Athens GA to Atlanta or thereabouts. It is called Atlanta Highway. The mall in Athens is on it. Well that made 316 and now that takes all the main traffice. But Atlanta hwy has alot of old timers and litle po dunk car lots. It runs through Winder and then through Dacula and up tp Lawrenceville. I have found soooo many cool cars sitting on the side of the road there for cheap it is ridiculous. There is a red s-13 siting outside of Stathem now. Nice car, Never driven .Can be had for cheap im sure.

                          2. Dress nice when you make these trips because you will be talking to people. Make sure when you talk to these people, especially if they are older than 5, you make eye contact and don't shuffle. Nothing old people hate more than a young kid with baggy pants hanging off his rear end and his hat cocked sideways shuffling all over his property not looking him in the eye. Makes em furious and they will not work with you.
another case in point. I saw a 240z that I wanted. I pulled over and knocked on the persons door. The guy was maybe 65 or so. ooked him straight in the eye and said yes sir and no sir. After 1 hour of hem-hawwing around, I left with that car. The price on the sign 2000. My price cause I was so respectful, made him laugh and didn't go all shifty eyed on him, 800 bucks. He saw that I was excited about that car and loved them, cause I knew some stuff about them that he just let it go.

                          3. Don't jive people. If someone gives you a price that you think is ridiculous, don't for gods sake say that. Just smile and nod your head, leave your # and still act interested. Odds are the next 5 people will do the same thing, but he will remember that polite guy and call you with a better offer.

Being polite and respectful will get youeverywhere when looking for a car. You will find the best cars, especially Corollas out in the country. People that live out there are from a different time and they got these cars for Daily drivers. They also have no idea about Drifting and the value of these cars. They see them as "them ald cars" and not cool Corollas.

Thats my advice. I will also be honest and say that I would much rather have a 240 to Drift in than my FD. Reason is money. But I got an 86 instead.
