Ken Gushi test the mustangs driftability, sure why not. But sponsered by a grossly huge car manufacturer to compete with their car, wtf.

When the drift king said he wanted to see more american cars drifting I dont think he meant american car coorperations.

Man I dunno whats up with all this complaining about "car company" support. Its the driver that wins, not the car. Seriously. The sponsor is only there to provide the funding and reap the reward of exposure. If you think it goes further then that then you are reading between the lines.

Since has when has the big 3 brought us any drifting event.
            NEVER!
To my knowledge it has been stuggling mechanics and enthusiasts that have been bringing these grassroot events.

                hypocrites!

Would you all be crying if HKS USA had thier own Formula D car that was making 500+ HP? HKS is capable of having the same resources that FORD does in terms of involvment with Formula D.

That's what I'm saying. The American manufacturers are the first to step up with factory drift teams. Where's TRD? Nismo? Racing Beat or Mazdaspeed?

I'll tell you where. Toyota's money is tied up in IRL, NASCAR, and F1. Nissan has scaled back their motorsports programs, save for the Infiniti Pro Series, JGTC, and Speed World Challenge touring cars. And Mazda is rumored to be working on a new LMP2 car for either the LMES or ALMS series.

The big Japanese companies aren't interested in supporting, promoting, and benefitting from the popularity of drifting. The big American companies are. Face it. Deal with it. Try and get Toyota or Nissan involved if you want.

I never knew Gushi was okinawan like me why didn't i find out sooner!?

BTW variety IS better for drifting, better competition.
We now have a little bit of Domestics competing for gold in the drifting world. Now all we need is the OTHER import cars drifting. That's right, we need Euro Drifters

Where has ford, dodge, and chevy been for the last 30 years since drifting has been around?

Also, DRIFTING IS TURNING INTO NASCAR, this is bad.
But I don't wanna start a flamming war so I am going to keep my mouth shut now.

uhm drifting has been in the US for what a year and a half? Their the first manufacturers to jump on it. As a matter of fact thier the first manufactuers in the entire world to get behind the sport.

I'm sorry, but EVERY single Silvia or 180 in D1 has been sponsored by Nismo.
