Maybe it's just me, but I don't think the texan that concerned about the gas milage in his race car.

we are waiting until it is 100% done and 100% presentable before releasing any media with it. right now were still having problems with the clutch being bled, were not sure if its the master cylinder or what. we've tried to put an aftermarket master on it from the local dirt track store, however there isnt enough clearance between the firewall and strut tower, and i cant find anythign bigger. im leaning towards tryign out z32, or jsut giong to a wilwood clutch pedal setup to see if that broadens our options. weve also flipped aroudn the line several times, to make sure there was no air in it, but it leaves us baffled. adn after searching several ls1 boards, we are not the 1st people who have had problems bleeding ls1 slave cylinders.Originally posted by S13 CharlieMr. Peters - Do you have a website showing the buildup of the beast in question?
akaik the el camino is sitting in the owners yard rotting away, hasnt been touched since dec 05. i dont really keep track of it anymore though, just what other people tell me or i see pop up. i will however say we have some cool cars up at the shop that are customers, that the customers have asked me to take to a drift event, so we shoudl have some info/possible pioneering on a couple other cool platforms that are different, but could be cool. no elco's now, or at least not right now.Is the El Camino out of the picture now?
the power steering resivior on the ls1 resides directly atop the pump. for lines we are using a slightly ghetto, but totally functional stock ls1 hardline, with the stock s13 rack hardline, joined together.Oh, and where is the power steering res. in the engine bay?
questions are good. how else do you find out about cool stuff like ls1 powered s13s?!Sorry, too many questions.. and now I'm drooling on my desktop.

if anythign the weight distribution is improved. the ls1 is slightly lighter than the ka, and if you take into account the regular ls1 doesnt have the added wieght of turbo etc (however mine does, but you could easily make a fast car without it, but for FD i feel the magnusen blower will give me a crazy stupid awesome powerband) and makes ungodly power / weight, its a aweosome swap.
but yeah, only in america, until the japanese see this and are like omg thats kewl. i wonder how hard it is to import a jdm ls1...

everythign is connectedOriginally posted by sonnysmr2how about no tie rods....or missing the rack, that much steering angle would not work stuff would rub or break.......lol
were aiming at 500/500 later on down the road. but to be conservative after some dynoing id say easily 450/450. when we get the cam in, build the heads and do our cool intecerooler idea were workign on well go higher.mike...how much power does it make, and what is your tire size setup, im sure you will be dealing with alot of traction issues.
tire sizes for now (we are using an 8'' rim temporarily) we run 235/40r17 front, 255/40r17 R in Cooper Zeon 2xs for now. We'd like to go wider, much wider, but gotta wait on the new wheels, but they will be worth the wait.

lol, duhOriginally posted by sonnysmr2must have cut the steering stoppers off the control arms....
were takign small steps to correct that.there is no way that it can have that much angle and work.....the tie rod, rack binds before it will support that much angle...
well see, we reduced teh bind a lot. its unbindable with about as much force as you give the wheel anyways......it will send him into a wall if he drives it like that.....
if it was a totally stock steering system yes. but we have been tweaking this thing a lot.hmmm maybe im wrong.......just my opinion..

actually right now its a stock ECU with a magnusen reflash. seems to be running well with no CEL's or anything, if we could figure out our clutch bleeding issue the car would have been on the road about 20 times by now.

actually with the torque of the motor, and the gearing, we are expecting well north of 30mpg highway. on throttle though will be a different story. but cruisign milage shoudl be pretty good, considering its pushing roughly 1000lb less than the camaro it came out of, and with gears you can get 30mpg highway with a 4th gen fbody. lots of torque+long gears = good gas milage.
