Yea, I meant to mention that, I would like to go riding with someone who can really do it. Honestly feel IS physics, if it feels like drifting then it is. Oh, and upon further thought, I think that maybe a FF could actually accelerate while sliding if it had extremely little rear traction. It would ahve to have enough that the power could overcome the braking force of the rear tires, but I think it could do it... especially while steering toward the inside of the turn to pull the front end that way while inertia pushes the rear out wide.

Heck even RPS13's are cheaper then a 1992 civic. lol if someone couldn't afford a S13 or even just the chassis over a FF such as a post 95 integra or civic....I don't even know how to end this one lol, schit, maybe their just too hung up on FF hondas and can't let go which blinds them to the cheaper and even MORE potiential rwd cars. All it takes is patience especially with 240's, took me 6 months to get mine.

FF is fine for drifting, if and when it has a driver of high enough skill and skill alone to balance out the handicaps to make it work in his favor. Not just something that is helping the car lock up the rear tires without any help from the driver. Just don't go asking the whole import scene, there's already enough dumb teenagers with FF show cars slamming into trees from not releasing the handbrake lol.
yeah the prices for integra's and civic's are the insane but its probably because its "popular" among "enthusiasts" and "common people" alike....the whole "Drift Scene" to me is beggining to unfold more and more everyday as kids and enthusiast line up to get a hold of a RWD car that is popular among people who drift them....i remember 240's used to be cheap like $2-3,000 but now there are some ranging in the high 4's to the low 5's and thats just for the s13 coupe...i do understand that you can search around and some for dirt cheap but these prices are on forums such as this or somewhere else but in the auto trader they can come at a hefty price...most people by civics because there are so many aftermarket goodies for it at a decent price....yeah it takes patience but what if you've already spent your "life" savings on a "show" Civic/Integra.....well you're out of luck and that just means you can't really afford the RWD car yet....
haha yeah i agree with the whole FF drifting you were talking about and teenagers slammin the trees haha...

        hmm feel is physics eh?
does that mean if my car FEELS faster it is automatically faster?

im sure FF can drift perhaps when they go in reverse...

You're doing a burnout if you're in reverse in a FF car... Not a Drift... You're wheels are pointed in the direction of trajectory..

Drifting is better described as oversteer. And a very good FF suspension is setup to do a little oversteer. Tight anti-roll bars, etc..

          matt.

not to act like a little making up words or anything, but I have always called it "Frifting". I think the name suits it well...

I used to drift my FF and got.. alright, but linking is very hard.

Once I drove a RWD my life hasnt been the same.FWD teaches you good braking and feint stuff easily transfered to RWD.

i am not quite sure who that was directed to but here is my view on that(not to start another "who gets to post here thread"), now also consider that i get my permit in about 2 weeks.

I think as long as people that dont have permit's dont overly post (esp in technique threads) it should not matter. I read basically every thread on drifting.com however I post on very few that I read, just because I cannot drive and I know that most people dont take me seriously because of that. However with reading all these threads I do learn many things that will help me learn to drift when I get my car and am allowed to drive. So I think as long as kids that cannot drive post responsibly it should not be a big deal.

whoa. there is a huge difference between actually driving and day dreaming. personally i hate to drive and i am just waiting until december or january so i can get my liscence(spelling)
i mean you can read as much as you want but it wont help you very much except in the technical aspects. there is a difference between understanding something and doing something. <8- ) the reason i hate driving is because normal driving sucks. i just want to get to a track and learn how to actually drive.

thank goodness gingerman (spelling) is like 30 minutes away. if you dont know what im talking about it was in some issue of car and driver and i know some locals in my area who go there.

oh yeah ff drifting is cool if they can hold it because its like regular pistons to rotary engines. some people are just specialist.

I understand that, however not untill recently did I. Luckily one of my friends is teaching me to drive his manual truck, so i understand the difference in being knowledgeable and being able to apply it, which is why I said people that cannot or have not ever driven should not post in technique threads.

Sure. Sideways is getting sideways is getting sideways. Although I'd have to say the defining factor would be if one could do it at a competitive level.
