i dont want to run lean and everything runs more efficient. with my air/fuel ratio gauge i monitor it and correct any discrepancies by adjusting the fuel pressure.

NEVER EVER RUN LEAN IN A ROTARY!

Flames coming out of your exhaust is nice too. I met this guy w/ a N/A FC that was running a straight i forgot how big of a pipeing he had. Maybe 2.5? But his car was damn loud. Louder than any FD running a straight thats for sure.

I probobly lay down 60-65 HP at the wheels. 6 U-joints for all that glorious 96hp to flow through really kills horsepower.

            Mods:

High Compression #210 casting Cylinder Head
K&N Oil Filter (Just had to add that for BLING!)

            Future Mods:

            200mm Flywheel (Aluminum)
Datsun Roadster 2000 Competition Clutch (NISMO)
            Oil Spray Bar

            Portmatch and Polish

            Rough Compression Ratio: 10.5:1
            Estimated Output: 120 whp
            WAIT! EDIT!! --- SR20DET. Change that. 200whp.

That's just my guestimated engine stuff... haven't yet decided about suspension yet.

            Darn glad I don't own a H()NduH!
120 at the wheels with a 2.0 bottom, headwork, cams, exhaust, and raised compression?

Why are you glad you don't own a Honda again?

Not super great, but it gets me from point A to.... where ever I'm goin'.

Edit: My friend's "H()nduh" Accord is the only car I've raced that can keep up with me. Then again, traffic is be a biitch and we are still in highschool with low paying jobs.

depends on the motor, tII lean would be 12:1 afr where as n/a would be in 14:1 afr best would be 13:1. And a sp n/a you might need upgraded secondary injectors and pump but prob. not. if you were running a bridge port then yes i could see those fuel upgrades.

its nice to see this thread is still going even though i just left for a few days, but now im back to defend myself.

first of all, to raziel i dont have trouble drifting the car at all now, i had a bad secondary turbo so that caused sum major problems, and i had a leak somewhere so that funked up my whole car and so my rpms would drop causing me to get no boost etc etc but now the leak is fixed so drifting the car is easier than ever. the fd is pretty easy to control if you ask me, and with the edfc i have, i can quickly change dampness from grip or drift its great, fds for life.

and to lickety split, yes i am 17 and i do own an fd. i was given the car as a rusty arse rolling chassis when i was 15 and ive been putting tlc in it for ever. i work very long and very hard as well as go to school and i think i deserve every thing in and on my car and your post made pretty good sense to me

anyways thats it for now, its glad to be back and gettin sideways. i missed you guys aahhahaha just kidding keep on driftin yall

                      Why don't I want a honda?
Because I don't want to follow the 95% of kids out there with the same friggin car. I think Honda's are ugly. I think to waste money on a plastic body kit is stupid, I certainly thing those rice cannons are obnoxious. And every time I see a $300 "Rear Wing" I hold back a laugh and just smirk. They all look the same. Don't forget 17" rims and euro lenses.

I want a car/motor that I can build on that took a lot of effort into making work right, and make a good amount of power. I would rather spend $600 on an old motor to bring it up to the same power I could spend $100 on a bolt on for a new motor. You know? I have a 33 year old import. I want it to stay somewhat old school. A nice LZ22 frankenmotor would be nice. Z-block, L-series head. Puts out good HP numbers.

And... one of the biggest things that most new schoolers don't get.

I have an old school to be different. If I had a Honda I'd only be joining the other 95% of kids these days, and I don't want to be like them, I want to be independent (represent!!), I want to be different! I have the ONLY Datsun 510 in my town. One of 4 confirmed Datsuns 510's in Southern Oregon. One is rusted worse than mine and doesn't run. The second one has an L20B with a weber DGV 32/36 downdraft, the other is an L18 with SU's, but that's all it's got besides rust cancer. I fall way behind against the L20B 510. The L18 guy didn't stand a chance.. I think he overreved it too much, doesn't run worth a crap.

Proud to have one out of 2000 cars left in this world. I like being able to say yay, I've got a rare one. And mines'a 2door. Makes it even rarer. :-) And it's all about the fun anyways!!

And another thing. My super-hot old school L-series 2 liter would probobly smoke the living crap out of 90% of those that decided they'd like a peice of my 510.

NOW! Back to power debates people.
I'd LOVE an SR20DET!!!!!!!! (ONLY BECAUSE IT'S NISSAN!)
                      And ugh @ VTEC/TypeR stickers.

I'd guess mine kight be around 135-45 whp
thats out of a VG30E with 205,000 miles on it. 2.25" catback exhaust. And thats the only power mod.

Yeah i know how you feel about the 510 there are not many of my car left either (with the V6 that is).

Or you can go to the track and see stripped out bare bones civics running all motor 13's and 14's on b16's and b18's and all that hooey. Honda makes a good motor. Might not sound or look pretty but they go good.

You must have a lot more money then most of us. I care about my car's performance before I care about how old school or trendy or hip it is. I'm not really such a big fan of rocking something just for the sake of rocking it. If I can make more, cheaper power using a different powerplant or a more modern setup then I will choose it over older, less effective technology. If it makes my car run better I am a fan.

Out of curiosity, what do you think I drive? I'm not pro or anti-honda, I'm just advicating a realistic outlook.

You're pretty confident in your 120 wheel horsepower. Maybe in the twisties. You're going to smoke 90% of all the cars that want a piece of you? The 510 is way light and would be a quick fun car with 120 wheel, but you must live in an area with some very slow cars.

I think im putting out 160 to the wheels or something my old throttle body was choking the engine of its air, so got a new one. Also the air flow meter wasnt working, thats why the check engine light was on.

Hey! I'm not totally dissin' on new school, I'm just sayin that I like my old school. To each their own.

I've just never been a fan of the modern cars..very complicated, computers, etc etc etc... sure they go, but it's not ALL go.. I like my Datsun, I learned everything I know about cars from THIS car... and reading other peices of info like the forums here, other car forums, etc.

I have seen some pretty quick Honda's out there... one guy has a sleeper Civic, he runs 14.5's all day long. And he's a really good driver, too. Another is running a Turbocoupe T-bird, he runs 14.2 consistantly, T3 running 18psi on an otherwise stock drivetrain... I believe he has a throttle body upgrade, not sure... another friend has a 5.0 'stang that runs 14's on a good night.

And, I said I would love an SR20DET! Now that's puttin some power to the wheels buddy... w00t.

But yeah, back to the numbers!!
Oh yeah.. I'm 17, 18 next month... and I bet you have... a Toyota pickup?? I dunno!
